After celebrating its tenth anniversary with great success last year, the "20 15×15/20×20" | 2024 edition confirms itself as a highly anticipated appointment for collectors and art lovers. The opening of the exhibition is held on Thursday, June 6, at Punto Sull'Arte Contemporary Art Gallery.
 

The creator of this renowned artistic review, the gallerist Sofia Macchi, didn’t set boundaries to the creativity of the 18 participant artists, leaving full freedom on topics and techniques and giving the only constraint of the artworks size: 15x15 cm and 20x20 cm. The artists took up the challenge of facing the unconventional size, which allows to create small masterpieces at the same time, not only pictorial but also sculptural.
Among the painters stand out indeed some internationally known sculptors, such as Simone Benedetto, Kyoji Nagatani, Lorenzo and Simona Perrone, Valeria Vaccaro and Matthias Verginer. Among the painters, in addition to the already known artists from the gallery such as Roberto Bernardi, Valentina Diena, Claudia Giraudo and many others, new names appear such as Daniela Gullotta and Massimo Villa.

Valentina Diena is on show together with other 17 artists, with four artworks: Icons 05 (20x20 cm), Icons 06 (20x20 cm), Icons 07 (15x15 cm) and Icons 08 (15x15 cm). All the artworks are part of a bigger series, Icons, where the subjects of the hyperrealistic drawings colored pencils on paper are mostly iconic images from the contemporary pop art world, always wrapped in the white and red “fragile” tape.         

The topics addressed range from the philosophical life views, such as the self-discovery and culture as the carrier of existence, to the battle to protect the environment, the hyperrealism and the landscape. The set-up of the artworks is studied in great detail and consists of a continuous line that travels the big rooms of the ground floor of the gallery. A minimal exhibition but full of visual impact, which shows the unexpected but tasteful matchings. The whole exhibition is a homage to the limitless creativity, an occasion to admire the artworks of well-known artists and discover other surprising creative universes.
